Still seems some don't understand the rational of wearing a facial shield. Its a measure to reduce your footprint from 6 feet. Its an adjunct to social distancing.
Maybe we need a good slogan like Keep the skid marks on your side.

This is an ever evolving scenario and we can only act on what we know now. Science is an experiment. Try something, evaluate the outcomes and adapt.
One can not expect to do the same thing and expect a different outcome.

see thats where your rationale is off. Wearing appropriate masks from protection against an outside source is not the same rationale for wearing a mask to protect others against you.

If you want to ignore basic physics then thats ok maybe you just don't understand it. Im sitting at work right now wearing a mask, if I breathe out I can hardly feel any breath. If I remove my mask and do the same breath I can feel a whole lot more. Pretty simple concept.

The agenda isnt to wear masks to completely eliminate a hazard, its to slow the spread and use preventative and proactive approaches. Masks arent 100% the answer as they are not 100% effective in preventing transmission.

When you go hunting or fishing you do everything you possibly can to induce a specific outcome. By stacking multiple layers of proaction and prevention helps get a desired result. Same for battling a disease. Some things we do while hunting may not ensure success, but they contribute towards it. When hunting for example you wear camo, sit in a tree stand, practice self discipline for movement, reduce scent, use calls and attractors...all these are not single handedly responsible for your success in the field but you use multiple factors to add hedge your bet so to say.

If you cant see why masks help slow the spread of a virus then do just what I mentioned above. Breathe out of a mask and see how much breath comes out and then breathe without a mask. Now go into close quarters with other people who may be infected. Same reason you should sneeze into something and just sneeze all over without covering your face. A sneeze and breathing are both ways that virus particulate can enter the air.

Are you ok standing in a confined space like an elevator with someone breathing covid all over with zero barrier or does something that limits the span and duration of their breath help? Its pretty simple to follow the guidelines and pretty simple to understand why it helps if you try to understand. Its even simpler to discard the evidence that medical professionals are putting out there and the simplest approach you can take is bare ignorance which seems you are suggesting. Do you not wash your hands, avoid touching your face, do you not use hand sanitizer after and before grocery shopping? Pretty animalistic if you dont.

Again, look at the demographics outside of old age homes. Why is the virus more prevalent with poorer less educated people? I say its because of their ignorance and rebellious nature. Sometimes you cant help your own ignorance because you dont know what you don't know but once you get educated on a topic you can make your own grown up decision and to each their own. Just remember, ignorant people are some of the most dangerous in life. Be safe, have a nice day Im out of this one.

I remember the Regional Director in the NE region of the MNR was from south Africa. Probably knew lots about elephants but never saw a moose, caribou, walleye or white birch in his life. So I agree fully with fff. Cut her some slack as she's only parroting the info given her by the so-called experts.

Lee Iacocca was president of Ford Motor then Chrysler corporation yet never turned a wrench in his life. You hold him responsible for all the rusty Fords from '68 to '72 and lousy V8's in that same era? FFF is absolutely correct with his post #122.
