It was fairly secure from theft, as I was able to put locks on the coupler at the atv end, and also locks on the pins that attached it to my truck receiver.
the LA guard dog is the other product im looking at as well.

I checked it out and you're right,it's the same unit. Something like this certainly can't hurt securing the ATV in the box. With simple lock pins,it's an excellent unit for preventing theft. I'm not sure I'd put a lot of trust in it to prevent it coming out of the box in a collision,though. Impact inertial physics can do mind-boggling stuff. I've seen boxes ripped right off trucks,cargo and all. If you decide to buy one,let me know how it works. You've got my attention,for sure.

This does not seem any easier then a couple ratchet straps.
For security purposes a piece of chain and a padlock should be sufficient.
