    Not liberal?

I used to love the fund raisers doe the Liberals. That’s when we’d see a Paul Martin come in. And lots of hot waitresses for those $1000 plate dinners.
Like the liberal supporter of the Markham casino mansion lol. ?

Get a clue T, join the real world.
Greed is not something that is solely in the domain of Conservatives....Its a human trait, and last I checked both Liberals and Cons are human
And it might be worth highlighting
[COLOR=#191919]Both Teachers’ and National Bank have pledged to repay dividends they received if the allegations are proven.

Well Gilroy, seems to me it’s you living denial.

Whether that’s what’s plainly before your eyes. Or the fact that Unions have a long storied history of corruption and greed. Whether the Teamsters, the Unions in MTL or the shoremen, the unholy alliance between McGuinty/Wynne and your Unions and the carnage to the commoner in their wake.

Even the mere fact, which you so nicely mentioned is just how much they control.

I notice nothing to say on OTPP and “dividends”...I’d say more about our 3 other share holders but...

I’d love to mention our founders. One is very well connected in TO....I won’t mention him.

The other, some years ago a member here private messaged me. He asked me about Wolfgang ( our other founder) after he saw Wolf of wall street....

    He’s quite the character.

point being the Laurentian elites are a real thing. As are many other things. Not the least of which is just how well the “middle class” here is doing.

I see you did not address the Celtic Tiger at all?

OK a simple question " A guy invests in Great Britain in an insurance plan and he lives in Canada." This plan cost's the Canadian Government NOTHING over the course of 30 years. Should the Canadian pay any taxes on that investment to the Canadian Government after his 30 years of investing.

Previously answered America is not living in freezing temperatures for half the year and distance of travel. Just for a start.

Also “Oil and gas and transportation are the two largest and fastest growing sources of emissions in the country.” Upstream oil and gas production in Canada emitted 100 million tonnes of greenhouse gases in 2016, the most recent year for which emissions statistics are available. It accounts for one out of every seven tonnes emitted in Canada and went up four million tonnes that year.
Road transportation, everything from passenger vehicles to transport trucks, emitted 143 million tonnes, or one in every five tonnes of Canada’s total.

The article basically says that the global crisis crashed Ireland due to their fiscal policy. It wasn't as bad in Canada, maybe that evil conservative Harper did something right.

That's right giving Corporations a sweet heart deal on taxes.

The rapid accumulation of wealth during the boom years either flowed out of the country or, to the extent that it remained, benefited a small minority. Resources were not used to strengthen public services and distribute income widely. Cuts to personal income and capital gains taxes left the government coffers with a narrower tax base highly dependent on property taxes.

Harper, who you have no love for, didn't put Canada in that position so the crisis didn't crash us. "Folks like us" had our way at the time and we didn't go down like other countries.

Your contempt for conservatives distorts your perception.
