Yea we have a fall hunt here, but there is very few bears around the Kemptville area, I had one go thru the property about 10 yrs back and destroy all my bird feeders, but I haven't seen any sign or hear of any sightings since then.
Years ago, before I joined, they use to make sure there was a bear tag in the camp. Occasionally they would shot one.

Keep in mind that if there is just one bear tag in camp, only the person who purchased the bear tag can shoot the bear. Some people get mixed up on this and could get in big trouble.

That's a frequently bent law - but you are correct.

If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Chatting with the neighbour (2km away) and he saw a young Black Bear in his back yard last week. His dog chased him off, but he's been hanging around the bush on his back 40.
So there is one close by....have to put the 870 by the back door and make sure the flashlight is full charged
