The winter of 2013 was brutal on our herd and now that the MNR has stopped winter feeding in the yards I fear our herd will never build back up to what it was. We now see more wolves than deer.
Hey Terrym;
Our crew would echo your sentiments.
We hunt right next to Lake Manitouwabing.
2012 we took 3 deer opening morning.
2013 we took 1.
Winter of 2013 the lake was a slaughter house for wolves and yotes.
Winter of 2014 there was barely a kill to be found on the lake.
This year we have noticed the grouse back but deer season was full of bears and moose- no deer.

Yup. Same here. We saw moose almost everyday also.

We had 9 guys in WMU49 (west of sprucedale)
Never seen a single deer. We know the 700 acres we own very well, Dogging it we only seen moose and wolves.
The wolf sign is unreal, I'm goin to hunt them soon as the snow flies.

We hunted 53A we got a small buck and doe Monday morning and I missed a big buck on the same run but managed to take him late on Thursday afternoon, my personal best, we dogged every morning but sat in the afternoon due to the heat.

Came back from 47 late last night.
No sight of deer at all.
Heard less than 10 shots whole day.

we had 8 guys up in 42 just west of Espanola. First morning a buddy saw a nice buck but it took off before he had a shot. 2nd day i had one come crashing in to where i was setting up a trail camera...too busy hugging the tree (stretching the bungees around it) to get a shot at it. my buddy shot a small spikehorn buck on saturday when the weather got colder. other than that barely any sign around at all. lots of birds though this year. hopefully the rest of the gang is able to get something else to hang on the pole
