Studies show in the US as cases climb the death rate is dropping they kinda have a handle on it with proper treatment . Not here out death rate is the same .

I've read enough about masks to be convinced that it is better if everyone wore them in indoor public places than not to. I also regard the anti-maskers as conspiracy theory, anti-government kooks and weirdos. Of course if anyone of them gets the virus they'll be demanding immediate care from, duh, the government. Personally I'd put them last in line.
I've cut back my activities in response to the surge. No more indoor dining, fewer grocery trips, more online buying, etc. And do not effing think about coming near me if you are not wearing a mask inside a store.
I was at circle k the other nights talking to a friend . Seen 2 people in 20 minutes not wear a mask into the store both got what they wanted and left . I guess it depends on how you feel towards a mask. Some just want to blame the people who choose not to wear it. . Just like the rally in aylmer Ontario some people lost their mind when they didn't have a mask on. They are so afraid that they think only a mask will save them.Quote:

26 of the 40 deaths in the long term care home near me came without doctors or proper treatment. This is a problem the hospital was called in as a last ditch effort after almost 30 lives were lost . It is the same problem all over Ontario. The elderly people who contacted this disease are dying without proper care.
Why is that ? Because as Mike said the hospital's are already maxed out without covid 19 patients..
Why haven't we tried to resolve this horrible issue ?
At least a covid center would save many more people .

Did you get the memo last week my mask is not good it's only a 2 ply face covering. The population isn't wearing proper medical grade mask. So yes it lowers the chance of infection but it's not a cure all nor will it stop the majority of the cases.
Ps I haven't got a 3 ply yet . I have 3 or 4 mask's already I'm not going to rush out and replace my old ones. Sorry not going to happen .

As we have been advised numerous times, masks are not to protect the wearer but others around them. You don’t do it for yourself but others, like that cashier at Circle K. Not to wear one when advised is nothing but selfish.
Glasses not goggles so better than nothing. All my masks are 3 or 4 ply. I know how to handle mine too without touching my face. Even if a majority of people do not that does not justify not wearing masks or opposing the regulations requiring them.Quote:

Given enough time, being in public without a mask, will be viewed as if you were lighting a cigarette in an elevator. Who doesn't remember those days? Smoke so thick in bars you could not see, and bands did not need fog machines. Gentlemen that was not so long ago. Things change , especially with the health movement of recent decades. In some buildings and group settings , masks are here to stay.

They were seeing those death's with a fraction of those numbers in the beginning. As time goes on there are many more successful treatment's in preventing death's.

ie: I was going into the grocery store this morning and watched fella a little ahead of me stumble with the mask he had jammed in his pocket. Using both hands he put it on, then took it off, turned it around and put it back on. He then went into the store, walked right by the hand sanitizer provided, grabbed a cart with his uncovered hands and headed to the fruit and vegetables where I watched him picking thru various items, picking them up and putting them back trying to decide which one to buy.
It answered the headline I saw yesterday in the paper that said that they cannot identify the key sources for transmission leading to the latest increases in cases.
It's that mask he probably has used for months now (no one throws out $15 desiigner mask or washes them after every use) He's just wearing it due to mandatory requirements. The reality is, it's become a spreader in itself. Every time he wears it, it can be further contaminated and every time he doesn't wash his hands after he handles it, he spreads the contends off the mask on everything he touches.
Unfortunately he probably represent the vast majority of mask users....at least from what I see coming and going in the parking lots.
Forcing people to wear mask has potential created the perfect scenario to spread the virus....not prevent it.
The signs on storefronts will be changed forever. No shoes. No shirt. No mask. No service. If the first two were acceptable for health regulations, reasons, why not the third. I don't think anyone has caught a contagious disease off a sandaled foot in a restaurant, but you never know.
One would really have to ponder why wearing a mask could potentially cause a virus to spread.Would the mask itself not have to be contaminated with Covid 19? If a mask is worn for months what difference does in make as long as it's not contaminated with the virus.If it was contaminated would the wearer not already be sick with the virus.
No I don't think forcing people to wear a mask has created the potential to spread the virus that makes no sense at all.
It is exactly that compliance and servitude that I gave, is the reason I now have a voice, when for 30 yrs I didn't question anything. I was a happy unknowing, not questioning anything person and believed government actually had our best interests in mind. They don't, and it is certainly not the Canada today when I joined in 1980. We have less freedoms, less rights, and more taxation. So what did I defend. I find it hard to argue with those have not understood what has been lost in freedoms and rights in the last 40 yrs. These are all things I had before I joined and thought I still had until I went to get PAL..and it was through firearms rights, defense of property and person I changed my views.
SO the heads that need to shaken are the ones who don't want or understand rights. But it is pretty hard to educate those who have never had them.

Mike I couldn't agree more as I see that exact scenario play out daily every time I go into town to do my shopping runs. Walking across the parking lot I see folks pull the mask out their pocket, put it on and then while in the store they are constantly fidgeting with their mask and like you mentioned poking through the produce dept touching all sorts of apples for example picking out the ones they want. Then there are high and mighty ones like a few here that have no clue that there are plenty of exemptions for people from wearing masks but can't wait to criticize someone for not wearing one.
Here's a quick story. Every few weeks I like to treat myself to a donair at a store in CP, they are really good. I've been going there all summer with out a mask on and have never had an issue. So Saturday I go in to grab a couple of them and walk into the store as their is only one customer and their limit is 5. Well right away a couple of the staff say you have to have a mask on so I tell them I have been going in all summer without one including just a couple of weeks back. So Eric asks me for proof and I say he's not even allowed to ask for that. Well apparently some scared witless patron had complained about someone being there without a mask on and they got a call from the health dept. Anyway the boss comes out and says don't worry, just go stand at the doorway and we'll fix you up. So I did and there taped to the window like in most places is the health dept. notice of mask wearing. There at the bottom paragraph is the information explaining that there can be many exemptions to mask wearing and that proof of exemption is not required. So I'm at the doorway reading it out loud to everyone inside making sure they can here me. I tell them it's right there in there window at the doorway and well doesn't Eric pipe up and say he hasn't even read the paper from the health dept. LIke WTF, this guy isn't wearing a mask behind their plexiglass barrier while he's handling everyone's food and yet he doesn't even know the regulations concerning patrons. Anyway I will be having a chat with the owner and quite possibly contacting the LGL Health Unit enforcement officer, who gave me his number and said to contact him if I ever had any issues.

Totally agree, gun bans will not stop the problem. We have to give people a reason not pick up a gun, as a way to better their life, besides jail. The real problem is that for some, it is the only way to get 'stuff', that others have. Many people are poor through no fault of their own, (I understand in many cases it is their fault, but it does not change the dynamics for them), but they see the life others have on TV. Ads for vacations away,( some never had a vacation), new cars, ( never had one , take the crowed bus every day), new phones every couple of years, ( can't afford a 10 year old one). My parents didn't have money, I took out loans to go to college, and started from the bottom. I worked hard and worked many jobs to become successful. If you choose not to better yourself and learn, then tough shyt....
So far there is little done to stop them from picking up the gun. They get caught and then go home the day after or later that day with no gun lol. We will never run out of criminals on the street to replace those in jail. We have to change the way we choose to deal with those that are waiting to follow in their footsteps. Break the cycle.
